October is finally upon us and I'm setting up my bullet journal for the same. I've been having a great time trying to really customise the spreads that suit my lifestyle for that specific month and so far it's been working out pretty great.
Let's start of with the theme:
I went for a yellow-orange theme for this month because thinking of October immediately makes me think of those two colours in particular. The association springs from the evident October heat and the yellowing of leaves and grass all around.
October cover page and monthly bucket list:
This spread was very easy to create owing to the simple layout and a clean font that I chose for this month.
The left spread is a cover/ goals page for October to do some intention setting for the month. The spread on the right is a monthly bucket list where I'll be writing down some small doable things to do around the month to bring some adventure into my daily routine. I think that this is a nice way to spice things up and not make everyday life feel monotonous.
The highlight of the day:
This is a slight tweak to the gratitude log. I like to have some sort of positivity and affirmation related spread in my bullet journal every month and for October I am going for highlight of the day.
This is a great way to condense the day into its peak moments and remember what made it special. This also puts a positive spin on things if you're not having a great day.
It also is a great way to look at your month in retrospect when the month is over and the spread is all filled up.
The habit and health tracker:
Habits and health trackers have become a non-negotiable part of my bullet journal now and I like it that way.
The habits I'm tracking for this month are:
Working out
Meditation
Inktober
Architecture
Reading
Journalling
Positivity
Laundry
Getting some fresh air
These are the habits I want to be mindful about for the month of October.
Apart from that, I'm tracking a couple of my health aspects and also noting down how I was feeling physically that day.
Music for the month and journal prompts:
Since last month, I've been trying to take efforts on the music front as well because I'm passionate about that. So for September I tried to listen to 30 new songs.
For October, I'm trying to rediscover the artists that I already know and like; try to come across a few of their songs I might have not heard yet and just giving them my ear for the day.
Journal prompts:
I journal pretty frequently and its one of my go-to self care and self-check activities. I wanted to make the process more interesting and dig a little deeper this month so I came up with a few prompts for myself. I'll leave some down here in case you're interested:
How do you see yourself?
What do you attach your self worth to?
How would you describe your life?
Where are you in life right now and how does that make you feel?
Why do you usually feel sad when you do?
Where do you want to be in life right now and what can you do to enable it?
What are you afraid of? Why?
What does happiness look like to you?
What are you most grateful for, in your life?
What advice would you give to yourself right now?
I hope these are useful during your journalling sessions and help you to get more clarity about yourself.
